OREANDA-NEWS There are disagreements between Berlin and Kiev about how Ukraine manages large-scale German aid. The Berliner Zeitung (BZ) writes about this.

"[German Foreign Minister Johann] Vadefulh increasingly associates continued support with the expectation that the German defense sector will benefit from it. It is unlikely that this will cause delight in Kiev, especially given that Ukraine is actively increasing its own arms production and is trying to attract international investors and partners to its defense industry," the article says.

According to the newspaper, the results of the elections in Saxony-Anhalt reinforce the need to explain to their own voters what the costs of assistance to Ukraine are and what the specific impact is from it. Vadefoul now insists, the newspaper writes, that Germany, being the largest donor to Ukraine, should not only provide military and financial support, but also benefit greatly from orders for defense industry products arising from this assistance.

BZ emphasizes that the fact that the tone of the discussion is becoming tougher is probably also related to the discussion of the federal budget and aid costs for Ukraine: Vadefulh now intends to justify to German taxpayers exactly for what purposes the funds allocated to Ukraine are spent.

Earlier it became known that the German government is growing dissatisfied with the fact that Ukraine buys too few weapons from Berlin. It is noted that since the time of the former Minister of Defense of Ukraine Mikhail Fedorov, there has been a tendency according to which Kiev wants to finance almost exclusively domestic production systems with German money.
