OREANDA-NEWS   According to the results of the first quarter of 2026, the total value of Chinese beer exports to Russia increased 1.4 times compared to the same period in 2025. Interfax reports on a sharp increase in the supply of intoxicating drinks, citing data from the General Customs Administration (GTU) of the People's Republic of China.

During the reporting period, suppliers from the Asian country shipped a total of $10 million worth of beer to Russia. For comparison, in January-March 2025, the figure was at the level of 7.1 million. Thus, in 12 months, the value of exports jumped by 2.9 million dollars.

Supplies of Russian beer to China, on the contrary, have plummeted. In the first three months of this year, the cost of exporting intoxicating drinks from Russia to China amounted to only 700 thousand dollars, although a year earlier the figure was estimated at 3.5 million. As a result, shipments decreased fivefold in money over the year.

The increase in purchases of Chinese beer is recorded against the background of problems with the production of this alcoholic beverage in Russia. Last year, the production of breweries with a strength of up to 8.6 percent in the domestic market dropped for the first time in several years. The dynamics, experts noted, were influenced by a number of factors, including stricter regulation of the industry and restrictions on alcohol sales in a number of regions. Analyst Alexey Nebolsin predicted that the peak decline would occur in January-March 2026.
