OREANDA-NEWSThe state of emergency in Estonia due to the coronavirus pandemic, introduced initially before May 1, will be extended for at least two weeks. This was announced on Sunday by the Minister of Finance of the Republic Martin Helme.

“I give a very clear signal: we will not cancel the state of emergency on April 30”, he said on the radio station. “We must maintain these measures”. He specified that the state of emergency can be extended by at least two weeks. The criterion for assessing the duration of a state of emergency, according to him, will be the statistics of new cases of the disease, as well as hospital admissions due to coronavirus.

In Estonia, the total number of people infected with coronavirus on Sunday reached 1,309. Over the past day, 899 tests for coronavirus have been performed in the country, five of which turned out to be positive - this is the most insignificant increase in more than a month. The day before, 46 new infections were diagnosed, on Friday - 51. The total number of deaths reached 25.
