OREANDA-NEWS  The French military detained the Mozambique-flagged ship Deyna, allegedly en route from Russia, the Mediterranean Maritime Prefecture said.

"On March 20, 2026, the French Navy conducted an operation on the high seas, in the western Mediterranean Sea, on the oil tanker Deyna, sailing under the flag of Mozambique from Murmansk," the publication says.

According to the agency, the reason was to check the use of the flag of Mozambique. The detention operation was carried out with the assistance of Britain. According to President Emmanuel Macron, the tanker could allegedly belong to the so-called shadow fleet.
