OREANDA-NEWS  The mediators of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, after a tense meeting with representatives of Hamas, refused to transmit the movement's response to the deal proposed by Israel, considering it frivolous, The Jerusalem Post reported.

"The mediators of the hostage-exchange cease-fire deal refused to disclose Hamas' response to the Israeli-proposed deal, saying it was not a serious response, two people familiar with the situation told The Jerusalem Post," the report said.

The Israeli source noted that Hamas has not yet given an official response to the Israeli proposal, which was submitted a week ago, and "is now making new demands on issues that have already been resolved."

According to the sources, the mediators suggested that Hamas reconsider its position and return to negotiations "with a serious response."

The essence of the new demands of the Palestinian movement has not been disclosed.
