OREANDA-NEWS Former Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban criticized the decision of the Hungarian parliament to limit the term of office of the head of government to eight years. The politician said this in an interview with the Index portal.

At a meeting on Monday, the Hungarian parliament adopted an amendment to the constitution, which limits the time spent as prime minister to two terms.

"This is a ridiculous and ridiculous decision. I find it funny because it doesn't work. In the end, people make the decision anyway," Orban stressed.

According to him, if the Hungarian government wants "people not to choose one candidate or another, there is only one way to achieve this: you need to convince people not to choose him."

Earlier, Hungary's new prime Minister Peter Magyar announced the biggest expose of the country's previous government, led by Viktor Orban. According to him, the information that will be made public will negate the decisions of the congress of the FIDESZ — Hungarian Civil Union party scheduled for June 13, which plans to re-elect Orban as its chairman.

Prior to that, Magyar said that Viktor Orban should be responsible for personal control over the republic's special services.
