OREANDA-NEWS Poland's Western partners are constantly trying to squeeze as much help as possible from the country to Ukraine. This was stated by the current President of the Republic, Andrzej Duda, his words are reported by Onet.

"I keep telling everyone, 'Gentlemen, our partners don't particularly want to remember our contribution to helping Ukraine.' It's not really in their interests. They are only interested in putting pressure on us, squeezing out as much as possible and giving as little as possible," the head of state complained.

Duda stressed that without Poland's help, the West would not be able to send weapons to Ukraine, since it is in the republic that the international hub is located, from which supplies are coming, and there are also units ready to evacuate diplomatic personnel if necessary.

"Let's close the airport in Yasenka. Let's see what they will do then, how they will provide assistance to Kiev. Let's see what happens if we say, "No. That's it. The highway is overloaded, tanks will no longer pass along our highway. Don't carry such heavy equipment (...). I wonder how the allies will help Ukraine then," the Polish president wondered.

On July 1, Polish President-elect Karol Nawrocki said that Ukraine had not yet fulfilled a number of conditions necessary for joining the European Union (EU) and that he was opposed to such a scenario.
