Russia officially closes 20 checkpoints operating on the border with Ukraine
OREANDA-NEWS The Russian government has ordered the closure of 20 checkpoints that previously operated on the state border of Russia with Ukraine from August 1.
The corresponding decree of the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin was posted on the official portal of legal information on Monday.
"Starting from August 1, 2025, the checkpoints across the state border of the Russian Federation established in accordance with the agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of Ukraine on checkpoints across the state border between the Russian Federation and Ukraine dated February 8, 1995, according to the list according to the annex," the order says.
The list of automobile checkpoints includes Bezymeno, Vergelevka, Golovkino, Klimenki, Tishanka (all in the Belgorod region), Zernovo, Belaya Berezka (all in the Bryansk region), Donetsk (Severny), Kuibyshevo (Dyakovo), Titovka, Mozhaevka (all in the Rostov Region), Novobelaya, Voronezh Region and Tetkino (Boyaro-Lezhachi), Kursk region.
The list of railway checkpoints includes Gartmashevka (Voronezh Region), Dolbino, the Vystr Crossing (all Belgorod region), Lokot, Tetkino (Kursk Region), the 122 km Quarry Crossing and Chertkovo (Rostov Region).
Some of the checkpoints being closed after 2022 ended up on the territory of Russia as a result of the incorporation of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, Kherson and Zaporizhia regions.
