OREANDA-NEWS   Grain harvest in Russia this year, compared with 2022, will fall by a significant 17 percent, to 127.6 million tons, Interfax writes with reference to the forecast of the company "Proserno".

However, this is only 0.8 percent lower than the annual average over the past five years. Experts also predict that grain crops will decrease by 1.3 percent this year, and the average grain yield will be 16 percent lower than in 2022.

The Ministry of Agriculture expects a harvest of 125-127 million tons this year, including 80-85 million tons of wheat.

Earlier it was reported that from March to September last year, sanctions reduced the export of fertilizers from Russia by 38 percent compared to the previous year.

Despite the fact that the United States and the European Union have removed Russian agricultural products, including fertilizers, from restrictions, domestic producers and suppliers continue to face the blocking effect of overcompliance - in some cases they fail to charter and insure ships carrying their products, as well as to make bank payments, said Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin.
