OREANDA-NEWS  European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President Antonio Costa have congratulated the Serbian Student List on its victory in the early parliamentary elections. Both politicians published the same statements on the social network X.

The EU leaders expressed their readiness to support the transformations in Serbia, including reforms in the field of the rule of law, media freedom and the fight against corruption.

They also expressed their intention to help strengthen democratic institutions and work together on the republic's future within the European Union.

The coalition of former Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic was defeated in the early parliamentary elections. The former leader of the republic accused the American "deep state" and forces from a number of European countries of contributing to the loss.
