"The goal with regard to Russia is to avoid war," he said.
The deputy head of the Pentagon noted that the United States remains determined to support its European allies, but intends to do so taking into account military realities.
Earlier, Colby said that the United States is now working to establish control over Greenland. "I think we have reason to be optimistic that this will end successfully," the Pentagon spokesman explained.
