OREANDA-NEWS   Ice crust up to 9 cm appeared in the northern regions of the Caspian Sea. In recent years, due to global warming, this rarely happens, the scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia Roman Vilfand told TASS.

"In recent years, winters have been warm, and this rarely happens - significant ice has formed in the coastal zones of the Caspian Sea. An ice crust of up to 9 cm has formed, and it does not break on the waves," he said.

According to the Hydrometeorological Center, plus one or two degrees during the day and minus five or six degrees at night are expected in Astrakhan on December 15. In Makhachkala, in the coming days, plus six to seven degrees are forecast during the day, plus four degrees at night.
