OREANDA-NEWS The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has withdrawn from the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC), headquartered in Kuwait, after leaving OPEC and the OPEC+ alliance, the association of Arab producers said in a statement.

This organization has been in existence since 1968, and the UAE has been a member for 58 years.

"The General Secretariat of the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC) has been informed of a letter from the Minister of Energy of the United Arab Emirates, Suhel al-Mazroui... to the Chairman of the current session of the OAPEC Council of Ministers, which refers to the UAE's decision to withdraw from the organization on May 1, 2026," the statement says.
