Russians began to travel more often on business trips

OREANDA-NEWS In the first half of 2026, Russian companies began sending their employees on business trips 3% more often than a year earlier, while the figure increased by 21% compared to the same period in 2024, RIA Novosti was told in the OneTwoTrip for Business travel service.
"The average frequency of business trips for one company from January to June 2026 increased by 3% compared to last year and by 21% compared to 2024," the service found out after analyzing data for the first half of 2026.
According to the service, representatives of the education sector went on business trips 25 times a month on average in the first half of the year; employees from the mining sector - 9.8; employees of companies engaged in administrative activities and services - 6.6; construction companies - 6.1; energy companies - 5.8.
Moscow remains the main business center for almost all areas where work is associated with frequent business trips. "In the field of education, the capital accounts for more than 42% of bookings, in the field of administrative services - 36%, in construction - more than 23%, and in the extractive industry - about 22%," the analysts said.
However, representatives of the energy sector visited Chita more often during business trips - the city accounts for 30% of domestic trips. "This city is also in demand among representatives of the extractive industry (8.5%), who also often fly to Magadan (almost 8%)," the service shared.
They also noted that individual vectors of development of various sectors of the economy are clearly visible on international business trips. For example, mining companies have concentrated their business interests in Tashkent, Beijing and Atyrau, a well-known center of the oil and gas industry.
In turn, power engineers actively traveled to Hong Kong, Chinese Qingdao and Minsk - they account for 15% of trips each. Representatives of construction companies went to Istanbul and Delhi, administrative service workers to Dubai, Istanbul and Yerevan, and education workers to Minsk, Tashkent and Bangkok.
