OREANDA-NEWS Turkish authorities are holding discussions to obtain permission for the transit of 14 of its vessels through the Strait of Hormuz, Turkish Transport Minister Abdulkadira Uraloglu said.

"There are currently 14 Turkish-owned vessels in the region. Negotiations are underway, coordinated by our Foreign Ministry, regarding their departure," The National newspaper quoted The minister as saying.

According to him, earlier in March, one of the Turkish vessels received permission to depart from Iran, as it was engaged in the transportation of goods in Iranian ports.
