OREANDA-NEWS The Government of Ukraine has extended the ban on the import of goods from Russia into the country until December 31, 2026. This is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the relevant resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers.
The document amends Government Resolution No. 1147 of December 30, 2015. It prohibits the importation into Ukraine of a wide range of Russian food and industrial goods.
Also, the Ukrainian authorities have extended the validity of Resolution No. 1146 of 2015 by another document until December 31, 2026. It sets duties on imports of Russian goods. The import of products from the Russian Federation to Ukraine was completely banned in April 2022.
Earlier, the UN condemned Ukraine for a law paving the way for the ban of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC), pointing out that historical ties with Russia cannot be a pretext for religious persecution. It is clarified that the UN regards such a policy of Kiev as a violation of the right to freedom of religion, guaranteed by international law.
