OREANDA-NEWS. S&P Global Ratings assigned its 'AA+' long-term rating to Will County, Ill.'s series 2016 alternate revenue source general obligation (GO) bonds. At the same time, we affirmed our 'AA+' long-term rating and underlying rating (SPUR) on the county's previously issued GO debt. The outlook is stable.

"The rating reflects our view of the county's strong economy, coupled with very strong budgetary flexibility and liquidity," said S&P Global Ratings credit analyst Jennifer Boyd.

The county will use the bond proceeds for various public improvement projects--including a new sheriff's office building, a courthouse, a satellite courthouse, and a health department building.
