The head of the Russian Ecological Society Rashid Ismailov called for an end to the Christmas tree mayhem and stop throwing live Christmas trees in the trash. City Christmas trees from government squares are most often disposed of correctly — they are sent for recycling or environmental actions are carried out. However, ordinary Russians rarely think about the fate of festive trees and send them to the garbage in large numbers.
