OREANDA-NEWS. Federal budget spending in the period from January to April 2022 increased by almost a quarter compared to the same period last year. This was announced by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin at a meeting on the implementation of the federal budget.

“The income situation also allowed for an increase in expenses. They grew by almost a quarter compared to the same period last year,” Mishustin said.

According to him, revenues have grown significantly due to proceeds from oil and gas exports. In addition, the increase in income made it possible to replenish the reserve fund in early May by 800 billion rubles. In total, over four months it was replenished by 1.4 trillion rubles.

He added that additional funds will be directed to support the economy of the country and the Russians. In addition, the state is already supporting a number of development projects and increasing assistance to the regions.

On May 12, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that the federal budget for the first four months of 2022 was executed with a surplus of 2.7 trillion rubles. He noted that budget expenditures for January-April of this year also increased. The reason for this was the decisions on advanced financing of development projects and advance purchases.
