OREANDA-NEWS Indonesia is "still in the process" of considering the option of using the cards of the Russian payment system Mir, it will take "some time," told Indonesian ambassador to Moscow Jose Antonio Morato Tavares.

"We recommended (Indonesian banks to consider using Mir cards – ed.), but I think it will take some time. We know that Mir cards are already used in many countries – in Turkey, Vietnam, and the CIS. In Indonesia, we are still in the process," the diplomat said.

He noted that about 40 thousand Russians now live in Indonesia, mainly on the island of Bali, and they are finding ways to conduct banking operations.
