OREANDA-NEWS  During the last week of November, wholesale prices for individual items of poultry meat fell by 8-10%, and pork — by 3-4% compared to the previous week. This is reported by Kommersant with reference to the data of market participants.

According to the sources of the publication, despite the decline, prices for the listed meat items remain above the level of the end of November 2022 by 15-58%. Experts explain the dynamics by concerns of producers about possible restrictions on the export of chicken, announced earlier.

"Over the year, the broiler carcass has risen in price by more than 51%, and there is a place to fall painlessly," one of the interlocutors of the publication commented on the situation.

Alexey Kletsko, Director of Yakov & Partners, notes that the prices were also affected by a decrease in purchases made by meat processors on the eve of preparations for the New Year holidays. At the same time, the expert believes that the price reduction will not be critical for meat producers, since prices are now higher than last year at a comparable cost. Kletsko believes that meat will continue to fall in price until the end of 2023, and a reversal will be outlined only next year.

Before that, Russia announced a catastrophic rise in the price of fish and a collapse in sales.

Earlier, experts predicted record prices for beef by the New Year.
