OREANDA-NEWS  More than a third of Russians (41%) see a significant risk in using Internet banking, and one in five (18%) believes that it is dangerous to use these technologies, follows from a study by the analytical center NAFI (RBC has).

The survey was conducted in March of this year, 1,600 people over the age of 18 participated in it.

Less than a third of respondents (28%) believe that there are risks when using a mobile bank or conducting transactions through a personal account on the site, but insignificant. Only 6% are sure that it is completely safe.

According to analysts, the older the users of digital financial services, the higher the trust – almost a third (28%) of young people believe that it is very dangerous to use such technologies. Among users over 45 years of age, there are slightly more than a tenth of them (13%). Russians with higher education are more inclined to think about the security of such services (41% vs. 31% without higher education).

At the same time, digital banking services have become more popular over the past five years: the share of mobile banking users has doubled (from 34% in 2018 to 70% this year). 2.5 times more Russians performed certain operations using Internet banking (17% in 2018 and 43% in 2023).

Men (47% vs. 40% among women) and officially employed Russians (48%) use banking services more often through their personal account on the website.

Mobile banking is more popular among residents of large cities (73%), Russians aged 35 to 44 (80%) and respondents with higher education (79%).
