OREANDA-NEWS  Russia has sent funds to Abkhazia for socio-economic development. This is reported by the press service of the Ministry of Finance.

The decision to transfer the money to the republic was made following a meeting between Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov and politician Badra Gunba.

Since December 23, 2024, Russia has already provided Abkhazia with humanitarian electricity in the amount of 327 million kilowatt-hours. As stated by Alexandra Panina, a member of the Board of Inter RAO, the republic will fully select the planned volume of electricity supplies in the near future. At the same time, Abkhazia has not officially applied for their increase.

Earlier, adviser to the Abkhaz Embassy in Moscow, Catania, said that, according to preliminary estimates, electricity supplies from Russia to Abkhazia would last until mid-February. After that, the republic expects to increase local generation.
