Russia remained the fourth largest economy in the world by the end of 2025

OREANDA-NEWS According to the results of last year, Russia became the fourth economy in the world — the country's GDP for the first time exceeded seven trillion dollars at purchasing power parity, follows from the IMF data and RIA Novosti's own calculations.
According to the agency's calculations, the Russian economy, calculated in terms of purchasing power, amounted to 7.26 trillion dollars last year compared to 6.97 trillion a year earlier. This allowed the country to maintain its fourth place among the largest economies in the world.
China remained the world's largest economy last year, with its GDP rising to $41.2 trillion from $38.2 trillion in 2024. The U.S. GDP increased to 30.8 trillion from 29.3 trillion, and India's increased to 17.3 trillion from 15.6 trillion.
Japan rounded out the top five, with its economy growing to seven trillion dollars from 6.7 trillion a year earlier. Germany, whose GDP increased to 6.2 trillion from six trillion a year earlier, ranked sixth.
Indonesia (five trillion), Brazil (4.99 trillion), France (4.56 trillion) and the United Kingdom (4.55 trillion) followed by a large margin.
Overall, the global economy grew to 210 trillion dollars last year, although it was 197.8 trillion in 2024.
