OREANDA-NEWS The Central Bank of Russia recommended that creditors forgive the debts of borrowers who died in the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall in Krasnogorsk on March 22. The regulator sent a corresponding letter to banks, MFIs, consumer credit cooperatives, agricultural consumer credit cooperatives and pawnshops.

Representatives of the Bank of Russia also called on creditors to provide the necessary support to the victims on the basis of their application, up to full release from obligations under loan agreements or loan agreements. Organizations should report on such procedures on their websites, the press service of the regulator explained.

According to Alexander Khaminsky, head of the Law Enforcement Center in Moscow and the Moscow Region, the proposed measure of support for Russians is called debt forgiveness and is governed by the provisions of Article 415 of the Russian Civil Code. To implement it, each bank must formulate and publish a public offer, in which it is necessary to set out all the essential conditions required for debt relief, he explained in a comment to <url>.
