OREANDA-NEWS   According to the results of last year, the indicator characterizing the level of counterfeiting dropped to the value of four forgeries per 1 million banknotes, which was the lowest value since 2011, according to the data of the Bank of Russia. "The indicator characterizing the level of counterfeiting, equal to the ratio of the number of detected counterfeit banknotes of the Bank of Russia to the number of banknotes in circulation, decreased compared to 2021 and amounted to four forgeries per 1 million banknotes in circulation," the regulator said.

So, over the past year, 22,874 counterfeit banknotes of the Bank of Russia were found in the banking system of the Russian Federation, including 14,184 five-thousand banknotes, 4,336 banknotes with a face value of 2 thousand rubles and 3,637 counterfeit banknotes with a face value of 1 thousand rubles. The fewest counterfeit banknotes with a face value of 50 rubles (30) were detected.

183 counterfeit coins with a face value of 10 rubles, 83 coins of 5 rubles and three counterfeit coins with a face value of 1 ruble were also identified.
