OREANDA-NEWS Sam Altman, the head of OpenAI, believes that modern computers were not designed to work with artificial intelligence (AI). He stated this during the OpenAI Podcast, which drew the attention of the Windows Central edition.

The head of the company that created the chatbot ChatGPT said that modern personal computers (PCs) were designed for a world in which there was no AI. "And now we live in a different world, and what you expect from hardware and software is changing pretty fast," Altman said.

The entrepreneur criticized the PCs available on the market and stressed that current devices do not take into account the context well and cannot predict user actions. Altman also said that in the near future, users may completely abandon conventional PCs and smartphones, as it will be more convenient for them to interact with technology in a different way than to look at the screen.

Windows Central journalists drew attention to the contradiction — they recalled that in 2024 Altman said that the upcoming AI revolution would not require widespread replacement of computers and other equipment. According to media authors, the head of OpenAI may hint at the growing human need for a new type of gadget — which, among other things, is being developed by Altman himself along with former Apple chief designer Johnny Ive.

At the end of June, lawyers for entrepreneur Elon Musk said during the trial against OpenAI that the billionaire does not use a personal computer. At the same time, Wired journalists believe that Musk is lying in order not to disclose personal information through the court.
