OREANDA-NEWS  By the end of the 2025/2026 agricultural year, the grain harvest in Russia, according to preliminary estimates, increased by 11 percent and amounted to 144.6 million tons. This was stated by Oksana Lut, head of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, as quoted by Interfax.

The head of the department called the achieved result "good and worthy." The collected volumes of grain, Lut explained, will meet the needs of not only domestic but also foreign markets.

There is no need to talk about a threat to the country's food security, she stated. The ministry expects a total of 60 million tons of grain to be exported this agricultural year.

Last year, Russian farmers managed to harvest the third largest grain harvest in modern history, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev said earlier. Last year, we managed to achieve a high result despite adverse weather conditions that affected a number of key agricultural regions in the spring and summer, including the Saratov Region and the Krasnodar Territory.
