OREANDA-NEWS  The harvest in Russia this year will be no worse than in previous years, which will allow us to satisfy domestic demand, and for some types of products, even with a reserve. This was stated by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, quoted by TASS.

"The harvesting campaign has been completed on more than 90 percent of the sown areas. It is already clear that the harvest will not be lower than in previous years," the head of government said.

Mishustin stressed that the stable situation in the agricultural sector in Russia is explained by systematic work, including the mechanism of grain procurement and commodity interventions.

The needs of the domestic market for this type of product were met, according to the head of the Ministry of Agriculture Oksana Lut, by the beginning of September. During the harvesting campaign, the ministry also noted that the average yield of Russian wheat increased significantly, reaching 41 hundredweight per hectare.
