OREANDA-NEWS In St. Petersburg, the police have blocked the channel of illegal migration. A criminal case has been opened. The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports about this in its Telegram channel.

According to the investigation, since 2020, accomplices from among the heads of a large consulting company have been arranging migrants as employees of their firms. In fact, foreigners illegally worked on construction sites, cleaning companies, and delivery services.

The fictitious documents obviously had no legal force, but they could serve as a formal basis for the decision of migration units to extend the validity of labor patents and the duration of temporary stay of these foreign citizens in the Russian Federation.

The police conducted about 60 searches at the residential addresses of the suspects and in the offices of the companies controlled by them.

Earlier, a raid to identify illegal migration took place in Moscow. More than 80 illegal immigrants were found in one of the capital's hostels on 50 let Oktyabrya Street.
