OREANDA-NEWS. The Committee on the Judiciary of the House of Representatives, where Democrats have the majority, released a full report on the impeachment of US President Donald Trump.

The 658-page document consists of four parts, which describe the Committee’s work, the legal grounds for impeachment and the basis of the allegations against Trump of abuse of authority, as well as details of the second charge of obstructing the work of the Congress. The arguments of the Committee are a compilation of what has been said and published earlier.

Report says that the Committee submits the impeachment case to the House of Representatives. It is stated that the President has betrayed the interests of his office, that his crimes and misconduct undermine the Constitution. His behavior continues to endanger national security and fair elections, so the House of Representatives must act in an urgent manner, the report emphasizes.

The House of Representatives may vote on impeachment this week. The majority in the House are Democrats, so most likely impeachment will be imposed. Then the case will go to the Senate, which will need two-thirds of the vote to remove Trump from power. However, Trump’s supporters from the Republican Party control the Senate and do not intend to remove the President from his post.

Democrats began the process of impeachment against Trump, suspecting him of delaying military assistance to Ukraine and demanding, in exchange for providing assistance, to investigate the activities of his political opponent Joe Biden and his son Hunter. Trump says that he demanded that the Ukrainian authorities only combat corruption.
