Putin named the initiator of the Budapest meeting

OREANDA-NEWS US President Donald Trump has proposed organizing a Russian-American summit in Budapest, Russian President Vladimir Putin said. He is quoted by RIA Novosti.
"In the last telephone conversation, both the meeting itself and the venue were proposed by the American side," he said.
Putin stressed that a summit of this level needs careful preparation. "It would be a big mistake for both me and the American president to approach this lightly and leave this meeting without the expected result," the president added.
Earlier, Trump canceled a meeting with the Russian president in Budapest. The host of the White House said that he had the impression that the parties would not achieve the desired goal, but added that the meeting would take place in the future. Putin, in turn, expressed the opinion that we can only talk about postponing the meeting.
