Repeated emissions of petroleum products have been noticed on the Black Sea coast

OREANDA-NEWS New fuel oil spill sites have been discovered in 20 emergency response zones on the Black Sea coast, the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation reported on Wednesday.
"453 interdepartmental monitoring groups have been organized in the Krasnodar Territory, the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol. The coastline with a length of more than 955 km is surveyed daily. Cases of release of fractions of petroleum products were recorded at 20 work sites," the report says.
In total, more than 171 thousand tons of contaminated soil were collected, of which more than 131 thousand tons were transported to temporary storage sites.
In particular, about 170.5 thousand tons of contaminated sand and soil were collected and removed from the coastline in the Krasnodar Territory, including 131.7 thousand tons taken to a temporary site.
501.85 tons of polluted sand and soil were collected in Crimea, 488.78 tons were removed, and 13.07 tons remain on the coastline.
244.74 tons of polluted sand and soil were collected and exported in Sevastopol.
In total, more than 5,000 people and more than 670 pieces of equipment were involved in the elimination of the consequences of the emergency situation, the department noted.
