OREANDA-NEWS  The appearance of a new tax on deposits in 2023 will contribute to stimulating investment activity in Russia, according to Yevgeny Fedorov, deputy of the State Duma Committee on Budget and Taxes. In conversation with the "Tape. The parliamentarian explained that such a tax is "insignificant" and will bring several tens of millions of rubles to the federal budget.

"This is actually a luxury tax. We are talking about a very small tax associated with large deposits in banks. This is a very insignificant tax in terms of specific payments to people," the deputy said.

According to Fedorov, the introduction of such a tax will be a favorable factor in the development of investment activity for the Russian economy.

"This tax will affect those who have deposits of tens, hundreds of millions of rubles. For such people, it will be an incentive to invest, and not to keep money on deposits," the parliamentarian added.
