OREANDA-NEWS  The least amount of pollutants in the atmosphere was recorded in Dagestan. The Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI) named the regions of Russia with the cleanest air. The results of the study are published by RIA Novosti.

The republic has registered the lowest emissions from the combustion of fuel for the generation of electricity and heat. Ingushetia and Chechnya are also at the top of the rating. At the same time, the Penza, Ryazan and Ulyanovsk regions were the leaders in terms of air purification quality.

In 2024, Norilsk, a regular in environmental anti-ratings, surprisingly found itself among the cleanest cities in the country. In terms of air quality, it was ahead of Moscow, among others. The city's unexpected entry into the vanguard of environmental statistics was explained by the effectiveness of the sulfur dioxide neutralization program, the Sulfur Program. Khabarovsk and Cheboksary shared the palm of the championship then.

Previously, Russian cities were ranked by salary level. As it turned out, residents of Novy Urengoy and Salekhard earn the most.
