OREANDA-NEWS The authorities of the Moscow region are going to start building a backup of the Yegoryevsky highway in 2025, which will connect the MKAD and the Central Ring Road in the eastern direction. Kommersant writes about plans to build a new toll road in the capital region.
It is a four-lane highway with nine interchanges and 32 bridges with a total length of 36.2 kilometers. The road will start in the village of Tomilino near Moscow, pass through the territory of the Lyubertsy district, as well as the districts of Kotelniki and Ramenskoye and reach the Central Ring Road near the village of Gzhel. The working name of the highway is "Moscow — Yegoryevsk —Tuma — Kasimov" (METC). According to the Ministry of Transport of the Moscow region, it should be completed in 2027-2028.
The current two-lane Yegoryevskoye highway is very busy, and the authorities do not see any point in its reconstruction due to the dense buildings around it. Plans to build a stand-in have been discussed since 2019, and in December 2021, the regional government concluded a concession agreement with M.E.T.K. LLC on the creation of a toll highway. At the end of the year, the project received a positive state expert opinion.
The Moscow Ministry of Transport expects that the new toll road will bring the transit flow of freight transport out of populated areas and increase traffic safety on the Egoryevsky highway, as well as increase transport accessibility for more than two million residents of the region.
In mid-December 2024, traffic along the Mytishchi Chord was launched in the Moscow region. The four-lane highway, 16 kilometers long, connects the busy Yaroslavskoye highway with Dmitrovsky, Pirogovsky, Ostashkovsky and the reconstructed Afanasovsky. At first, the passage along it was made free for everyone. Now drivers of passenger cars need to pay 238 rubles, and trucks - 473 rubles.
