OREANDA-NEWS. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky at a press conference following talks with Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte said that the country receives weapons from Western countries solely for defensive purposes, TASS reports.

“We are building up our combat effectiveness and the capabilities of our army <...> It is very important for us that all these (obtained) weapons are protection. We think only about peace and only about the de-occupation of territories. And only through diplomacy,” Zelensky assured.

He also noted that the country is no longer going to give "a single piece of its land."

Zelensky also said at a press conference that he and Prime Minister Rutte touched on the topic of Ukrainian security and possible sanctions against the Russian Federation.
