A piece of Eternal Flame from the Grave of the Unknown Soldier will be delivered to Uzbekistan

OREANDA-NEWS A piece of Eternal Flame from the Grave of the Unknown Soldier in Moscow's Alexander Garden will be delivered to Tashkent on May 6 as part of the "Fire of Memory" campaign, the press service of the Rossotrudnichestvo representative office in Uzbekistan told RIA Novosti.
On May 4, the Popular Front launched the "Fire of Memory" campaign, in which the particles of Eternal Flame taken from the Grave of the Unknown Soldier in Moscow will be sent to the regions of Russia, as well as to 21 countries.
"On May 6, at 11:00 (9:00 Moscow time), the memorial complex "Mass Graves" in Tashkent will host a solemn ceremony of the international patriotic action "Fire of Memory", dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory," a representative of Rossotrudnichestvo said.
As part of the campaign, Maria Kiselyova, a three-time Olympic champion in synchronized swimming, TV presenter, and public figure, will bring a piece of Eternal Flame from the Grave of the Unknown Soldier to Uzbekistan.
Since 1999, May 9 has been celebrated in Uzbekistan as a Day of Remembrance and Honors. 82 participants of the Great Patriotic War and about 5 thousand workers of the labor front currently live in the republic. According to updated data, including from Russian archives, more than 1.9 million Uzbek residents participated in the 1941-1945 war, more than 540,000 of them died, and almost 160,000 went missing.
