EU28 Сurrent Account Surplus €8.4 bn
In July 2016, compared with June 2016, based on seasonally adjusted data, the surplus of the goods account decreased (+€7.2 bn compared with +€12.3 bn), as did the surplus of the services account (+€10.9 bn compared with +€12.5 bn). The deficit of the primary income account grew slightly (-€3.2 bn compared with -€3.0 bn), while the deficit of the secondary income account fell (-€6.4 bn compared with -€6.6 bn).
The 12-month cumulated current account for the period ending in July 2016 recorded a surplus of €145.4 bn, compared with €140.1 bn for the 12 months to July 2015. The surplus of the goods account for the same period increased (+€129.7 bn compared with +€84.3 bn), while the surplus of the services account fell (+€139.7 bn compared with +€145.8 bn). The deficit of the primary income account grew (-€44.0 bn compared with -€16.3 bn) as did the deficit of the secondary income account (-€80.0 bn compared with -€73.7 bn).
