OREANDA-NEWS  Researchers from the National Medical Research Center for Obstetrics, Gynecology and Perinatology named after Academician V.I. Kulakov, the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation found that the quality of sperm in men who had had coronavirus had significantly decreased.

Scientists analyzed the reproductive capacity of 50 men between the ages of 22 and 50. They studied semen analysis, blood tests, hormonal profile and sperm genetic makeup in the study participants. 

"Sperm quality after COVID-19 is statistically significantly worsening", the experts concluded. The most affected genes after the coronavirus were those that are involved in the processes of energy production in the mitochondria.

In addition, scientists warn that the coronavirus can threaten impotence, since it affects almost all body tissues.
