OREANDA-NEWS  On Thursday, there was damage to the outer skin of the instrument-assembly compartment of the Soyuz MS-22 manned spacecraft, a visual inspection confirmed the leak, the press service of Roscosmos said.

"A visual inspection confirmed the leak, after which it was decided to interrupt planned work on extravehicular activity by crew members of the Russian segment of the International Space Station Sergey Prokopyev and Dmitry Petelin," Roscosmos reported.

According to the state corporation, at the moment all systems of the ISS and the ship are operating normally, the crew is safe.

The press service reported that Russian specialists have begun studying images of the Soyuz MS-22 spacecraft, where there was a leak in the cooling system.

"In order to establish the causes of the incident, Russian cosmonaut Anna Kikina, using a camera on a manipulator mounted on a multifunctional laboratory module, took photographs and videotaped the outer surface of the spacecraft," the press service said.

The data was transmitted to Earth, and Russian specialists began studying the images.

"After analyzing the situation, a decision will be made on further actions by both specialists on the Ground and crew members of the Russian segment of the ISS," Roscosmos stressed.

Earlier on Thursday, Roscosmos announced the cancellation of a spacewalk from the ISS of Russian cosmonauts for technical reasons.

As it became known from the ISS negotiations with Earth, the Mission Control Center (MCC) decided to stop work on the astronauts' spacewalk due to the depressurization of the external circuit of the cooling system of the Soyuz spacecraft docked to the station.
