OREANDA-NEWS. Switching time from winter to summer and changing time zones can lead to an exacerbation of chronic diseases. This was reported to URA.RU by the head of the Department of General Pathology and Pathological Physiology. V.A. Frolova Mikhail Blagonravov and Russian scientist, professor of Skoltech Philip Khaitovich.

“Such a factor as a time zone shift of at least one hour or a change in time to winter / summer time is, in fact, equivalent to a person moving to a neighboring geographical zone. For older people with chronic diseases, this does not pass without a trace. And if the change of time occurs twice a year, then this increases the likelihood of exacerbation or worsening of chronic diseases, first of all, we are talking about cardiovascular diseases,” said Mikhail Blagonravov.

According to him, refusing to change the clock was the right decision. “Why is winter time better? It is as close as possible to natural astronomical. We believe that it is better not to change anything else, ”the specialist noted. Blagonravov stressed that the common time for the country is also not the best option. “China occupies five geographical zones, but the hands of the clocks all stand on the same digit. They have the same Chinese time. At the same time different illumination. When a person gets up in the morning, it is required that a sufficient amount of light affects the body. If it is not enough, then this negatively affects the physiology, ”the scientist explained.

Philip Khaitovich agreed that the change of time has an adverse effect on the body. “Experiments were made with rodents. This affected the physiological state, increased the stress hormone and ultimately shortened life expectancy, ”said the professor. He drew attention to the fact that the body works differently in the dark and daylight hours. “The more stable the regime, the fewer transitions, the less stress for the body,” the agency’s interlocutor added.
