OREANDA-NEWS. Essar Steel India Limited (EStIL) has recorded a 58% quarter-on-quarter growth in flat steel production in the second quarter ended September 30, 2016. The total production stood at 1.34 million tonnes, compared to 0.85 million tonnes in the corresponding period last year. Pellet production also grew by 89% to 2.43 million tonnes compared to 1.28 million tonnes in the same quarter last year.

At 81 KT, EStIL’s PPGI (Pre Painted Galvanised Iron) production was up by 98% when compared to 41 KT produced in the corresponding period last year.

Essar Steel India is one of India’s leading integrated steel producers with an annual production capacity of 10 million tonnes, which is supported by a 20 million tonne pellet-making capacity. The state-of-the-art facilities comprise iron ore beneficiation, pellet making, iron making, steel making, and downstream facilities, including a cold rolling mill, a galvanising and pre-coated Facility, a steel-processing Facility, an extra-wide plate mill and three pipe mills with coating facilities.
