North American market has turned: Halliburton

OREANDA-NEWS. July 25, 2016. Oil service provider Halliburton expects drilling activity in North America to rise in the second half of this year. "Our customers are thinking about growing their business again, rather than being focused on survival," chief executive Dave Lesar says.

The US rig count rose to 447 in the week to 15 July, Baker Hughes data show, up from 404 rigs at the end of May — the lowest for nearly three decades. Expectations of higher activity — despite static oil prices — partly stem from drilling efficiency and technology gains.
