OREANDA-NEWS. April 09, 2007. In the Zheleznodorozhny District startup-setup operations are in full swing at 110/10/6 kV Teplovaya-2 Step-Down Station. This installation is a major part of Novosibirskenergo investment programme for 2006-2007. The total amount of RUB 347,7 million will be spent for the substation construction (RUB 23 million cost of design and exploration work not included), reported the press-centre of Novosibirskenergo.
Teplovaya-2 Step-Down Station has been erected for several reasons. Firstly, the new substation is to replace in due course the morally and physically obsolete Teplovaya Step-Down Station constructed as early as in 1967. Secondly, there exist an objective need to increase the transformer capacity because of the growing load of the current consumers and emergence of the new ones. Besides, the Teplovaya-2 Step-Down Station commissioning will allow for considerable increase of reliability of electricity supply to existing consumers of the Tsentralny, Oktyabrsky and Zheleznodorozhny Districts, as well as for connection of new consumers.
The substation construction started in April of 2006 from the ground up; however, in November of 2006 the specialists already proceeded to gradual assemblage of the equipment. SibKotes Company is the installation general designer, and Production and Repair Enterprise, affiliated company of Engineering Center, is the general contractor. Besides, German specialists are involved into assemblage and startup work.
As compared to the old substation, Teplovaya-2 is more powerful: there are two transformers installed, each with 40 MVA capacity (being 31,1 MVA before). The new substation is equipped with advanced state-of-the-art facilities: ABB Company (Germany) 110 kV SF-gas insulated switchgear and control gear, 10 kV switchgear and control gear produced by Elektroshit Plant (Samara) with Siemens vacuum switches, etc.
The substation is fully automated: it is equipped with Tornado, a domestic software and hardware being an automatic process control system. Integrated automatic process control systems applied will allow disengaging the substation workers from numerous secondary operations for equipment control and operation, and result in considerable increase of the staff work operational efficiency.
It remains to add that the substation startup is scheduled for the first half of May, the definite date to be advised.
