OREANDA-NEWS. On April 23-25, 2007 Kortrijk, Belgium, will host INFOPOL 2007 - International Trade Fair for Equipment for the Police, Surveillance and Security Services - conducted under the auspices of His Majesty King Albert II, reported the press-centre of Rosoboronexport. An executive order of the Russian Federation Government tasked Rosoboronexport State Corporation for the first time to be the organizing authority for the Russian exposition at the Fair.Rosoboronexport State Corporation is the only Russian enterprise authorized to export and import the entire range of arms and military equipment, including special weapons and hardware, to the maximum satisfaction of foreign clients. At the same time, the Corporation is engaged in promoting comprehensive training courses for personnel of special forces and anti-terrorist units both in Russia and abroad. Striving for establishment of a civilized market of special safety and terrorist control equipment, Rosoboronexport State Corporation actively interacts with the Federal Security Service of Russia, its delegation is also a participant at the Fair, and presents special technological tools at the Corporation's exhibition stand.

With the growth of the terrorist threat in the recent years, law enforcement bodies consider the equipment issued to anti-terrorist units to be of great importance, including: special weapons, individual armor protection kits, means of detection, examination and elimination of improvised explosive devices (IED), as well as surveillance systems to obtain information on wrongful acts of the terrorists.

An electronic presentation displayed at the Corporation's exhibition stand depicts the following types of equipment:
special weapons for anti-terrorist units;
improvised explosive device safe handling, transportation and elimination equipment;
weapons, explosives and IED search equipment;
covert audio surveillance systems and satellite and mobile communications data tapping equipment;
day and night vision devices, counter video surveillance and sighting devices.

The anti-terrorist units' weapons in the presentation are classified into three independent types: non-lethal (SV1301M, SV-1317 grenade launchers with munitions kits, hand grenades and non-lethal ammunition for GP-25 army rifle-attached grenade launcher), silenced (SV-1338 pistol, SV-1368 revolver, SV-1339 sniper rifle, SV-1340 submachine gun), assault (SV-1327M pistol, SV-1337M small-size submachine gun, SV-1328M small-size submachine gun). Noise and flare suppression during a pistol or revolver shot is achieved due to locking the powder gases in the bullet shell and requires no traditional silencers. Development of special weapons complete with special ammunition has been pursued in order to achieve a tactical and technical superiority of the anti-terrorist units over potential terrorists. As a rule, the latter are equipped with army-issue weapons and first or second-generation armor vests (protection against all types of pistols and submachine guns).

Participants and guests of the Fair will undoubtedly get interested in nuclear quadrupole resonance detectors of explosives carried under passenger clothing. The system provides for control of passenger flows in airports. It is used in combination with explosives’ vapor detectors, hand-held and fixed metal detectors of Russian origin, X-ray TV units, and X-ray scanners for examination of passengers with low emission levels. The attention of experts and law enforcement officers will be attracted by the mobile criminalistic explosives laboratory used by Russian law enforcement bodies at explosion sites or in suspected IED locations. It is complete with robotic systems for remote examination, handling or annihilation of IEDs by means of hydrodynamic or pyrotechnical destructors.  The laboratory is also equipped with an X-ray TV unit, explosion protection suit, explosion protection containers, radio proximity fuse suppressors, and other equipment to be operated at a crime scene.

Containers manufactured in Russia for safe transportation of explosion-dangerous items are considered to be the best in the world in their class in terms of the weight-to-size ratio. They are designed for safe storage and transportation of IEDs with a charge weight from 10 grams to 40 kilograms in the TNT equivalent. The covert audio surveillance systems are presented by analog and digital radio stations, including remotely controlled. The TK-1058 equipment pack can be used for monitoring GSM-900/1800, NMT-450, AMPS/DAMPS-800 mobile communications subscriber units; the OS-1055 system is useful for monitoring satellite communications during anti-terrorist operations. An image stabilization feature is in-built in day vision devices (NF-1150 binocular) to enhance image quality in field conditions and observation conditions from mobile platforms. Night vision devices operate on 2+ and 3rd generation intensity amplifiers of Russian and foreign origin. In order to enhance the image information value in obscured conditions, these devices can be operated in combination with infrared imagers. An important task of detecting passive optics engaged in counter surveillance and sighting is solved by means of the NF-1168 electronic device.
Items displayed at the exhibition stand are only a pittance of the equipment, which is today in demand both in the rapidly evolving Russian market of special equipment and safety means and in dedicated segments of the world market. If necessary, experts can get information that is more complete on the types of special equipment produced in Russia directly from Rosoboronexport State Corporation.

Professionals with the Corporation follow up developments in the Russian market and actively interact with both developers and producers and the state customers of the special equipment. Welcome to the exposition of Rosoboronexport State Corporation at Infopol 2007 International Fair, which is located in Hall No. 3, Exhibition Stand 350. Here, each visitor will be able to convince oneself of the reliability, good prospects and high quality of Russian export products designed for special use.
