OREANDA-NEWS. June 15, 2007. JSC "Aeroflot - Russian Airlines" (MICE: AFLT) and "Boeing" [NYSE: BA] signed a contract for acquisition of 22 new aircrafts Boeing 787 Dreamliner to be supplied within 2014 - 2016. Under this contract Aeroflot can acquire both В787-8 for 248 passengers and larger В787-9. Engine will be chosen later.

The ceremony of the agreement signature between Aeroflot and Boeing was held in St. Petersburg in the presence of Sergey Ivanov, First Deputy Prime Minister of the RF. The contract was signed by Valeriy Okulov, General Director of JSC "Aeroflot - Russian Airlines", and Scott Carson, President of Boeing Commercial Airplanes.

This contract is being signed along with the agreements of Boeing on cooperation with "Ob'edinennaya aviastroitel'naya korporatsiya" (OAK) and SCJC "Grazhdanskiye samolety Sukhogo" for production of the Russian aircraft SSJ -100.

Aeroflot is known to sign a contract with Airbus on intention to acquire 22 long-haul aircrafts А350 to be supplied within 2014-2017 and moreover 10 aircrafts A330 will be purchased within 2008-2010.

Aeroflot signed a contract for acquisition of 45 aircrafts (AC) SSJ (Sukhoi) and an agreement to purchase six cargo AC IL-96-400.
