OREANDA-NEWS. July 12, 2007. “The use of high technologies is the foundation of our leadership is one of the main values followed by the company in its practical activity. The target medium-term program on the power supply reliability increase, based on use of innovative technologies has started in the grid companies of JSC “IDGC of Center and North Caucasus” service area in 2007, reported the press-centre of JSC “IDGC of Center and North Caucasus”.

IDGC-1 specialists analyzed interruption rate in the company for the several previous years and detected neck stages in grids.

“We developed our perspective plan for 5 years in view of the grid companies’ financial possibilities, technical equipment, - said Dmitry Pankov, Deputy Technical Director, - which includes target programs, the implementation of which will allow in medium-term perspective to increase the reliability of power grid complex operation by means of replacement econstruction of the constantly breaking grid elements. The criteria, which determine the priority objects to be included to the program (technical condition, service life, type of load), have been worked out. 

The most innovative technologies are used to implement the programs”.
In the course of the program the oil circuit breakers, disconnect switches 35 and 110 kV will be replaced by vacuum or SF6 circuit breakers, and electro mechanic protection will be replaced by modern micro processing units which allow determining and localizing the fault location faster, hereby to reduce power supply failures. The replacement of insulators on 110 kV disconnecting links for polymer ones which have service advantages and guarantees personnel safety is done as well.

The decision on construction and reconstruction of 0,4 kV conductors only with self-supported insulated wires that allows to reduce the number of customer outages, expenses for HVL usage as well as increases company staff safety was made. Installation and possibilities research to use in grids 0,4 kV voltage regulators, providing customers with power which meets all requirements is held.

The upcoming trend is installation of automatic length points on the power lines. The number of outages on the equipped with them lines will reduce.

The reactive power capacity control is the program within the limits of which the innovation activities include implementation of reactive power compensation devices both in RGC electric devices and customer ones, in consequence of which, the losses of power will reduce and output capacity of power grids elements which provide standardized voltage levels will increase.

Besides, the work on automation of technological processes on the SAP R3 platform is held in IDGC-1.

As to the component, as the company resources management system - PR-systems, this is the complex of power energy metering modules, power grid control modules, financial and product flows management, accounting and HR module, sales module and other components – all complex will be replicated in IDGC-1 in 2007.

Hereafter, we are familiar with the main functionality as SAP-7 BPS- business planning and modeling since 2006. The automated budgeting control system is established in distribution grid complex of Russia for the first time.
