On July 20, 2007 Kaspersky Lab, a leading developer of secure content management solutions, has released its latest analytical article, "Modern Security Suite solutions: methods for protecting confidential data" by Nikolay Grebennikov, deputy director of the Department of Innovative Technologies, reported the press-centre of Kaspersky Lab.

The article examines how confidential data can be stolen, and methods used to protect such data.

The article takes the example of a well-known Trojan program, and examines the methods used by Norton360 and Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 to protect confidential data from theft by the Trojan.

The author concludes that the most effective method for protecting confidential data is one that is based on analyzing application activity and tracking suspicious activity.
