OREANDA-NEWS. On July 24, 2007 Izhorskiye Zavody OJSC, a part of OMZ (Uralmash-Izhora Group) (RTS: OMZZ; LSE: OMZD; OTC: UHMVY), announced completion of its 37th shipment of equipment for the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant (NPP), India, reported the press-centre of OMZ.

The company shipped from St. Petersburg’s sea port 266 tons of equipment, worth about US$5 million, including a rolling gate for a transportation portal, emergency lock, shelves for fuel assembly, parts of a tubular electric heater for a pressure compensator, and parts of a hydraulic tank for the core emergency cooling system.

In 2002 OMZ concluded a contract with Atomstroiexport CJSC, general contractor for the project, to produce equipment for two power units for VVER reactors at the Kudankulam NPP. According to the contract’s terms, OMZ will supply 21,000 tons of equipment for a total sum of more than US$300 million.

OMZ expects to complete the equipment deliveries to Kudankulam NPP this year.
